White Deer, Texas - Wind Turbines

White Deer is the home of the Llano Estacado Wind Ranch, which spans over 9 miles or 5,760 acres of pasture and fields and is located just a few miles north of White Deer. There are 80 Mitsubishi MWT-1000 wind Turbines on the site. Each turbine measures 226 feet tall with 80 foot long blades and turns 21 times per minute. White Deer is Shell Wind Energy's second major commercial project in the U.S. and produces enough power to meet the energy needs of approximately 30,000 households.
